He has performed throughout New Zealand and internationally, and over the years his bands have included members of Fat Freddies Drop, Trinity Roots, Shapeshifter, Little Bushmen and Supergroove. David currently performs as a solo artist and with his original band, DOGTOWN.

David is a past winner of the AWIA Wellington Music Awards singer-songwriter award.

David has been writing songs for many years, but releasing them has never quite reached the top of his busy to-do list, until now. In 2026 he is putting his original music front and centre, beginning with the release of ‘Merry Go Round’, the first single from his forthcoming Audio Biography album.

To whom it may concern

David Greer and his new band DOGTOWN are simply fantastic. They had our hotel (The Royal) in Featherston absolutely rocking during their debut gig here. This is a band that literally stops you in your tracks and pulls you in with its astonishing sound … something very special. David’s original songs are stunning and its somewhat of a mystery how this man and his music are not well known to us all. We intend having DOGTOWN return soon to The Royal.

” … The last of our guests left last evening after nearly a week of celebrations
for our Wedding Anniversary.
The highlight of the week was our “Dance” at ‘The Pines’ on
Saturday night.
‘ I want to thank you for your contribution to this event by providing a
great range of music, which allowed all ages present (from teens to
mid-80’s) to get up and dance, and it is not always so easy to please three
generations musically!
We appreciated the preparation and thought put into the music which you
presented so well , and revived memories for so many.

The eldest couple told me they hadn’t danced for years as ” there has
never been the right music” – and they so enjoyed finding their dancing
feet again!

To put it simply Dave – GREAT MUSIC!, Thank you for making it such a
successful evening for us all”.

Regards,
Ainslie & Bill Martin.

TESTIMONIALS

‘We have just come back from a fabulous celebration over in the Wairarapa for my Dad’s 60th – it was a super weekend! BUT what made the party (apart of course from the gathering of gorgeous family and friends) was the MUSIC! The HIPNOTICS band played absolutely amazing music and had everyone dancing within minutes of starting and had everyone dancing right to the end! THEY were incredible and I can entirely recommend them for Christmas celebrations, birthday parties, absolutely ANYTHING! They also had recommended a jazz band for the beginning of the evening which was used and they too were fabulous! ENTIRELY recommend them for anything – thanks for the super music and for just making that night a NIGHT of dancing! PERFECT!!’ – Sarah Wells

“I wanted to drop you a note to (formally) thank you for a truly fantastic performance from the Hipnotics at my 50th Do at Prefab Hall last night.

I stopped counting the number of people that came up to me during the night to say how fantastic the band were – and in the next breath what an amazing singer and performer the lead singer (Christina) is.It has been a similar theme this morning. I have received numerous texts and emails from friends saying what a great night they had and, without exception, everyone has mentioned the band. I was pretty confident that the band would be good, as my husband Matt is a musician and did a bit of research choosing them. However they far exceeded both Matt and my expectations. They really made the party –
and I now have very sore feet from dancing. In short, the Hipnotics are a class act and they are an absolute credit
to your agency.

Cheers and thanks”.
